Its first performance was in the form of a quartet during a concert in February of 2023. Following that, all 7 saxophones performed in the lobby at Chenery Auditorium prior to the April KCB concert. - [Brian K. Shetterly](https://kalamazooconcertband.org/brian-k-shetterly/): Assistant Conductor Brian K. Shetterly was named Assistant Conductor of the Kalamazoo Concert Band in the fall of 2003. Brian retired in 2011 from his position as the Director of Bands and Orchestra at Three Rivers High School where he taught and conducted the High School Bands and the High School Orchestra. While at Three Rivers Brian taught Beginning Band, Middle School Bands and conducted the H.S. String Orchestra, H.S. Symphony Orchestra, H.S. Concert Band, H.S. - [Thomas G. Evans](https://kalamazooconcertband.org/dr-thomas-g-evans/): Conductor Thomas G. Evans retired as the Director of Bands and Professor of Music at Kalamazoo College in 2024. During his tenure, he conducted and oversaw every aspect of the band program (i.e., The Academy Street Winds, Jazz Band, and Pep Band). In addition to his conducting assignments, he taught courses in Music History, Jazz, Music Education, Trombone, and Euphonium.
